About PBCI
Statement of Faith
What we believe as a network and what we expect our member churches to hold in common.
Our Anchor Doctrine
"Once in Christ, Always in Christ."
The eternal security of the believer is the cornerstone of all we believe and all we do.
I. The Holy Scriptures
We believe the Holy Scriptures of the Old and New Testaments to be verbally and plenarily inspired of God, inerrant in the original writings, infallible, and the supreme and final authority in faith and life (2 Tim. 3:16–17; 2 Pet. 1:20–21).
II. The Godhead
We believe in one God, eternally existing in three persons — Father, Son, and Holy Spirit — co-equal in nature, attributes, and perfections; each worthy of the same worship, confidence, and obedience (Matt. 28:19; 2 Cor. 13:14).
III. The Person of Christ
We believe in the Lord Jesus Christ — His virgin birth, sinless life, atoning death, bodily resurrection, ascension into heaven, and His coming again. He is fully God and fully man, the only mediator between God and men (John 1:1,14; 1 Tim. 2:5).
IV. Salvation by Grace
We believe that man is lost and dead in trespasses and sins, and that salvation is by grace through faith — not of works — wholly apart from human merit. Regeneration is a work of the Holy Spirit (Eph. 2:8–9; Titus 3:5).
V. Eternal Security
We believe in the eternal security of the believer — that every true child of God is kept by the power of God and shall never perish. This is the foundational meaning of our tagline: "Once in Christ, Always in Christ." (John 10:28–29; Rom. 8:38–39).
VI. The Church Age
We believe in the dispensational distinction between Israel and the Church. The Church is the Body of Christ — composed of all true believers from Pentecost to the Rapture. God has distinct and unconditional purposes for both Israel and the Church (Eph. 3:1–6; Rom. 11).
VII. The Rapture and Second Coming
We believe in the imminent, pre-tribulational Rapture of the Church (1 Thess. 4:13–18), followed by the seven-year Tribulation, and the literal bodily return of Christ to earth to establish His millennial kingdom (Rev. 19–20).
VIII. The Future of Israel
We believe that God's covenants with Israel are unconditional and await literal fulfillment. Israel remains distinct from the Church, and God will yet fulfill all His promises to the nation of Israel in the kingdom (Rom. 11:26; Zech. 12–14).
IX. The Local Church
We believe in the importance of the local church as the primary context for the believer's growth, worship, service, and accountability. Each member church within PBCI is an autonomous local body under the authority of Scripture (Acts 2:41–47; Heb. 10:25).
